Simulator correctness: family costs

4 of 4 cases match; zero warnings.

These cases execute the same family-cost functions used by the projection engine. A mismatch fails the build. This page checks expense accounting, not investment outcomes or retirement readiness.

School costs are counted once

Option A separates non-education child living costs from school fees. The existing correction was already present when checked on 11 September 2026. No stored scenario or expense total was overwritten by this check.

The Bangalore, Gold illustration uses two children aged 8 and 12, Local Private schooling, no dependent parents, and an explicitly assumed Rs 1,00,000 monthly lifestyle budget that already includes child living costs. School fees add Rs 21,840 once, for Rs 1,21,840 per month.

Before and after this run: Rs 1,21,840 to Rs 1,21,840 per month. At an illustrative 3.5% withdrawal rate, the corresponding simple corpus is Rs 4,17,73,714 before and after. This is spend divided by a rate, not a simulator survival forecast. It excludes future inflation, portfolio risk, taxes, liabilities and changing family costs. Gold and Bangalore are scenario context, not extra multipliers in the family aggregator.
